Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan Both Expected to Participate

A $200,000 USD buy-in event, aka the "Triton SHR Series - Cali Cup", will be taking place at the WPT National Philippines series early next month.

The tournament, which will run from January 3-4, will have the largest buy-in in the history of the World Poker Tour. In addition to the cash prize, the winner of the event will take home a 14k Aurae Solid Gold Mastercard.

Earlier this weekend, a number of high profile participants were confirmed for the event.

Here is a list of the well-known professional poker players who will be participating next month:

Phil Ivey
Tom "durrrr" Dwan
Andrew Robl
Fedor Holz
Sam Trickett
Andrew Pantling
Vivek Rajkumar
Andrew Timothy
Daniel Cates

In addition, 12 "high-profile Asian businessmen", including Richard Yong, Paul Phua and Lei Tim Meng, have been confirmed for the event as well.

This event will mark the first time that Tom "durrrr" Dwan has appeared in a tournament in quite a while, as he has been largely off the map in recent months, choosing instead to focus on cash games in Asia.

The WPT National Philippines series gets underway on January 2nd, 2016, with the Super High Roller event getting started the very next day.
