2016 World Poker Tour - Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown - LogoEarlier today, Chino Rheem topped a field of 342 players to take down the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Finale. In addition to the $705,885 first place prize, Rheem also secured a seat in the WPT Tournament of Champions that begins this Friday.

With his victory today, Rheem became just the fourth player to win three WPT Main Tour events. In addition to Rheem, only Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen and Anthony Zinno have ever won three WPT Main Tour events.

Rheem's victory pushed his total all-time tournament cash total to over $8 million, of which roughly $3.4 million has come in World Poker Tour events.

Rheem has had some well-publicized issues over the past five years or so, with many in the poker world claiming that Rheem has failed to honor his debts.

Rheem has certainly acknowledged that these debts have existed in the past, which means that his victory today will almost certainly be of extreme interest to those who still might have money outstanding.
