This first event, which has a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000, has three starting flights - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Players who are eliminated can re-enter themselves into the following day's flight.

The first event of the World Series of Poker Europe is filled with a number of recognizable names, and this is mostly due to the ongoing World Series of Poker POY race.

Most of the names at the top of the POY leaderboard - including Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, John Racener and Ryan Hughes - signed up for Day 1A of the €1,100 No Limit Hold'em MONSTER STACK event. After all, there is money on the line, as the player who finishes at the top of the WSOP POY leaderboard as of the end of the WSOPE will win an entry to the 2018 World Series of Poker main event in Las Vegas (worth $10,000).

On top of that, many players have WSOP POY side bets on the go, which is why smaller WSOPE events will be populated by bigger names.

Some of the WSOP POY side bets are very significant, with some players having hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line.

This year's World Series of Poker Europe has a total of 11 bracelet events, including the €111,111 High Roller for ONE DROP and the €10,350 main event, which gets underway on Saturday, November 4th.
