Shawn Buchanan entered heads-up play against Maria Lampropulos as the chip leader and seemed to be en route to victory after a couple of hands. At one point during heads-up play, Buchanan held a 14 million to 3.5 million chip lead.

The decisive hand of heads-up play came when Lampropulos elected to call Buchanan's pre-flop shove holding Ah-8s. Buchanan turned over pocket Fours.

The board ran out 8h-Jd-3h-2s-As, giving Lampropulos two pair and a key double-up. This gave Lampropulos much needed momentum, which she took full advantage of, as the tournament would be over less than 20 minutes later.

The final hand of the event came when Lampropulos pushed all-in on a short-stacked Buchanan holding Tc-7c. Buchanan, after a bit of thought, elected to make the call holding Kh-5s.

The board would run out 9c-5d-Ts-2h-9h, giving Lampropulos a pair of Tens and the victory.

Here is how the final table ended up finishing out:

Maria Lampropulos, $1,081,100
Shawn Buchanan, $672,960
Koray Aldemir, $481,560
Adrian Mateos, $372,600
Daniel Coupal, $293,560
Christian Rudolph, $229,760

As mentioned, this was Maria's second million dollar plus cash of the past year, as she also took down the partypoker MILLIONS Live event in April for $1.255 million.
