Huge payday at Partypoker Millions 2018. Illustration. The winner of the 2018 partypoker Millions Online, with its prize pool of nearly $22 million, was Manuel "Sheparentao" Ruivo of the Netherlands.

partypoker attracted the attention of the entire poker world when they announced that their Millions Online event would have a guaranteed prize pool of $20 million. Would partypoker, which is significantly behind Pokerstars in terms of active players, be able to fill out such a big guarantee would having to pay millions of dollars in overlay?

In the end, the tournament ended up attracting a total of 4,367 entries, which produced a prize pool of nearly $22 million.

The biggest beneficiary of this large turnout was Manuel Ruivo, who ended up taking down the event for a payday of $2,329,943.

During heads-up play, Ruivo and Pim "ForMatherRussia" de Goede agreed to a deal which saw the players split the remaining prize pool while leaving $20,000 for first place.

Perhaps the biggest story of the final table was "Scarmak3r" of Slovenia, who managed to parlay a $5.50 satellite entry into a payday of $1,364,687. "Scarmak3r" more than held his own in a tough field, succumbing in third place after electing to take a final stand with pocket Twos. Unfortunately for "Scarmak3r", "ForMatherRussia" held pocket Sixes and sent "Scarmak3r" to the rail in third place.

The success of "Scarmak3r" should help the next edition of the partypoker Millions Online event, as more casual players will see the possibilities when it comes to playing smaller satellite events.

Here is how the final table finished out:

1. Manuel "Sheparentao" Ruivo, $2,329,943
2. Pim "ForMatherRussia" de Goede, $2,309,994
3. "Scarmak3r", $1,364,687
4. Pedro "Maddonaa" Marques, $1,091,750
5. "j2805667", $818,812
