A popular old poker TV show has been acquired and will be potentially brought back to life.Earlier this week, Poker Central announced that they had acquired the "High Stakes Poker" brand and assets.

In its heyday, "High Stakes Poker" was easily the most compelling poker show on television, as it featured the likes of Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu battling at the highest cash game stakes. The buy-ins for the high stakes No Limit Hold'em games skyrocketed from a starting point of $100,000 to $500,000 by the fourth season of the show.

The show, which was ultimately a casualty of "Black Friday" in 2011, also featured the likes of Doyle Brunson, Gus Hansen and Barry Greenstein, to name a few.

"High Stakes Poker" produced some incredible moments over the years, including an infamous bad run for Daniel Negreanu, which included a Quads over Quads hand against Gus Hansen, a battle between Phil Ivey and Tom "durrrr" Dwan and a very notable hand involving Tom Dwan, Barry Greenstein and Peter Eastgate.

The show certainly cemented the reputation of Tom Dwan, who played flawlessly during his time on the show.

Poker Central now owns all seven seasons of "High Stakes Poker", and they revealed that they will start streaming these episodes on "PokerGo" in the "coming months". I would imagine that they will have these episodes online by the start of the World Series of Poker at the end of May.

In addition, Poker Central plans on creating new episodes of "High Stakes Poker", which will feature a mix of "old and new" faces.

Poker Central has said that they are currently finalizing plans for the future of the series, which will include distribution on PokerGo as well as "potential broadcast and streaming partners".

Who would you want to see back on the show? Which new faces would you like to see appear?
