WPT World Championship Main Event Will Now Be Held on Sept 5th/6th

It is a busy summer of 2020 in the world of online poker.partypoker, via Rob Yong, announced earlier this week that they would be moving the date of the WPT World Championship to September 5th/6th.

This move was done so that the tournament wouldn't conflict with the World Series of Poker Online, which is going to run through the summer.

The WPT Main Event World Championship will have two Day 1 flights - one on Saturday, September 5th and one on Sunday, September 6th.

On Monday, September 7th, the two Day 1 flights will combine. Day 3 of the event will take place on Tuesday, September 8th, while the tournament will conclude on Wednesday, September 9th.

There will be a total of $10 million in guaranteed prize money for this event, so partypoker and the WPT clearly don't want to run this on the same weekend as the WSOP Online main event.

The $5k World Series of Poker Online main event on GGPoker will be taking place the previous weekend, with Day 2 of the $25 million event set for Sunday, August 30th.
