Polk Massive Favourite To Win Online Battle

The odds for the upcoming heads-up challenge between two foes have been posted.Earlier this summer, Daniel Negreanu promised violence to a viewer of his Twitch.tv stream that apparently had some not-very-nice things to say about his wife, Amanda Negreanu.

Doug Polk, who has been a thorn in Negreanu's side for years now, posted a humorous video of the blow-up on his Youtube.com channel, which has since been deleted.

This led to a back-and-forth between the two men on social media, which eventually led to a heads-up poker challenge.

Negreanu, despite emphatically making the case that he would be an underdog, accepted the challenge. Negreanu would later go on to say that this was "akin to Steph Curry challenging Shaquille O'Neal to a 3 point shooting contest to decide who is the better basketball player".

Negreanu contends that he will be playing on Polk's turf, which is online heads-up No Limit Hold'em cash games.

Polk, on the other hand, says that he has barely played any poker over the past couple of years, and that Negreanu is not the massive underdog that he thinks that he is.

This leads to the obvious question - what are the odds for the Negreanu/Polk battle, which is apparently going to be taking place sometime after the conclusion of the World Series of Poker Online?

PokerShares.com is providing betting odds for this event, and they also believe that Negreanu is a massive underdog.

Here are their current betting odds:

Last Updated: October 29th, 2020

Daniel Negreanu, 5.25
Doug Polk, 1.18

Note: These odds assume that the two men will play somewhere between 10,000 and 25,000 hands in their challenge

According to these betting odds, Negreanu should win 19 times out of 100, while Polk would win 85 out of 100 times.

Does Negreanu stand a chance, or will he be steamrolled by Polk?
