Daniel Negreanu Early Favourite To Win Potential Challenge

A heavyweight poker match in the marking.Daniel Negreanu may not have won his grudge match against Doug Polk, though most people would agree that he was far more competitive than expected.

In fact, most people were surprised that he even took the match against Polk, especially since it involved playing multiple tables of heads-up No Limit Hold'em.

Phil Hellmuth, however, was not surprised with Negreanu's performance, as you can see in this Youtube clip:

Daniel Negreanu was quick to respond on Twitter:

"@phil_hellmuth you said you watched "zero" of the match but seem to have strong opinions on the play.

I'll play you a heads up match live, online, at any stakes you feel comfortable with for as many hands as you would like.

Wanna play big guy?"

-

Phil Hellmuth hasn't yet responded to the "challenge", though he has been retweeting a number of person that have referenced the potential match.

-

It's obviously early days, though I can't see Negreanu or Hellmuth passing up this chance.

Hellmuth clearly thinks that he is one of the best No Limit Hold'em players in the world (when it comes to tournaments, he absolutely is), and Negreanu's confidence has to be brimming after his relatively strong performance against Doug Polk.

Would this Challenge be played online? Live? Multiple tables? Nobody knows.

-

BetOnline is already offering odds on a potential match:

Daniel Negreanu, -200
Phil Hellmuth, +150

As you can see, Negreanu is the early favourite to win. According to BetOnline, the Challenge can be in any format, though it must be completed in 2021 with a winner being declared.

Who do you think would win?
