full tilt poker - 25k heads-up online tournament
Full Tilt Poker will be hosting the first ever $25k Heads-Up Championship on Saturday, May 24th.

Assuming that the tournament fills up, there will be a total prize pool of $1.6 million dollars. The number of entrants is capped at 64.

Full Tilt has touted this as the largest buy-in for a live or online Heads-Up event ever.

This event will feature a great combination of seasoned "live" pros and young "online" pros. There are currently 32 people entered into the event, including the likes of:

-Phil Ivey
-Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
-Howard Lederer
-Gus Hansen
-David Benyamine
-Erik Seidel

There are also a number of the top young players in the world entered, including:

-Brian Hastings
-Cole South
-Tom "durrrr" Dwan
-Isaac "the guru 11" Baron
-Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond
-Hac "trex313" Dang
-Jeff "Actionjeff" Garza
-Chris "Genius28" Lee

There are some more names that will likely add themselves as the tournament draws closer. I can't imagine the likes of Erick Lindgren, Patrik Antonius, "Ziigmund" and "Urindanger" missing this tournament. It will be interesting to see if the tournament fills up.

This tournament will undoubtedly have one of the largest "rails" of any online tournament, ever.

Full Tilt Poker is also offering four lucky people the chance to qualify for the event via satellite. Full Tilt will be holding two $500 + $35 qualifiers, one on Thursday, May 22nd and one on Friday, May 23rd.

You are not allowed to unregister for this tournament once you enter. For most people, this isn't an issue, but if you have $25,001 in your account and think it would be funny to momentarily register - don't.

I would imagine that this will easily be the most watched and discussed online poker tournament ever. My money is on one of the "young guns" winning it.
