Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu Leads EPT Vienna
Published on October 28th, 2010 4:47 pm ESTA familiar name sits atop the EPT Vienna main event leaderboard, as "Team Pokerstars Pro" member Daniel Negreanu managed to finish Day 2 with the chip lead.
Of the 578 players who entered the 5k Euro event, only 80 remain after the conclusion of Day 2. The money bubble burst shortly before the end of the day, meaning that all of the remaining 80 players in the event will receive a minimum of 8k Euros for making it this far.
Daniel Negreanu managed to finish Day 2 with 893,000 in chips. Antonio Buonanno (704,500) and Toni Judet (704,000) will enter Day 3 with the second and third largest stacks respectively.
The 578 player field created a total prize pool of nearly 3 million Euros, making the 2010 EPT Vienna main event the richest poker tournament that has ever taken place in Austria.
The eventual winner of the event will walk away with 700k Euros (about $975k USD), while the runner-up will take home 470k Euros.
Here are the top ten chip stacks heading into Day 3 on Friday:

Daniel Negreanu surged to the top of the leaderboard on Thursday, thanks in large part to a heater of epic proportions. According to his Twitter page:
"SICK Red AA three times this round. Busted KK JJ then KK again just now."
Speaking of Negreanu, a victory in this event would move him past Phil Ivey on the all-time money list.
Day 3 will get underway on Friday afternoon (local time).
