Soi Nguyen Poker Profile

Soi Nguyen is a member of the 2010 "November Nine" and will have 9,650,000 in chips when the final table gets under way in November.

--

Soi Nguyen will be the "elder statesman" at the "November Nine" final table. Nguyen is 37 years old, which makes him the oldest player left in the main event.

According to his profile on WSOP.com, the 2010 main event was just Nguyen's fourth ever "live" poker tournament.

Nguyen was born in Vietnam and currently resides in Santa Ana, California. Nguyen currently works in the medical supply business - no word on if his success in the main event means that Nguyen will retire from his job.

As mentioned, Nguyen has only played sparingly in "live" poker tournaments up until this point. Aside from his main event cash, Nguyen has just one other cash in a live event - that was a 69th place finish ($1,980) in a $335 NLHE 2010 LA Poker Classic preliminary event.

--

Soi Nguyen was right near the top of the leaderboard at the end of Day 7, but ended up falling back to short stack status by the end of Day 8.

How will the relatively inexperienced Nguyen do when the bright lights are shining down on him at the "November Nine" final table? Nguyen played exceptionally well in making it to the final table, but can he continue his strong play in November? Will Nguyen be able to adjust his play in November, or will the more-experienced players at the final table (namely Michael Mizrachi) end up taking advantage?

We'll soon find out.
