Blom vs Haxton Rematch Set For This Sunday

After a long hiatus, the "Superstar Showdown" will be returning to Pokerstars this weekend.

In case you don't remember, the "Superstar Showdown" pits Viktor "Isildur1" Blom against some of the best players in the world in multi-table cash game action. Some of the players who have taken the "Superstar Showdown" challenge have included Daniel Negreanu, Tony G and Daniel Cates.

The first player to ever square off against "Isildur1" in the "Superstar Showdown" was Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton. Haxton ended up winning $41,701 off of "Isildur1", and is still the only player to win money off of Blom in the challenge (Negreanu won one of his two matches against "Isildur1", but he lost money overall).

Pokerstars has decided to pit Blom and Haxton against each other once again, with the two players facing off starting at 12 pm ET this Sunday.

According to Pokerstars, the stakes have gone up. The first battle between Blom and Haxton took place at $50/$100 (No Limit Hold'em), while this match will have them playing $100/$200 No Limit Hold'em. The four-table match will last a total of 2,500 hands.

The last "Superstar Showdown" match took place in July of 2011, with "Isildur1" making $150,000 off of Terje "Terken89" Augdal.

Over the course of 11 "Superstar Showdown" matches, Blom has gone 9-2 with a cumulative profit of $662,036. Blom's wins have come against Tony G, Daniel Cates, Eugene Katchalov, "Dodgyfish72", Daniel Negreanu, Scott "urnotindangr" Palmer, "Mastermixus", Rui Cao and Terje Augdal, while his two losses have come against Haxton and Daniel Negreanu.
