Weight loss update - Poker world current events.Shaun Deeb appears to be cruising towards a win in his $1,000,000 prop bet with Bill Perkins.

In March of 2023, after some negotiation, Deeb and Perkins agreed to a massive weight loss prop bet.

Deeb bet $100,000 that he would reach a 17% body fat percentage by the start of the 2024 World Series of Poker, which begins in late May.

The exact "due date"? May 30th, 2024.

If Deeb doesn't reach a 17% body fat percentage by May 30th, 2024, he must pay Perkins $100,000.

Perkins, on the other hand, has given Deeb 10-1 odds, meaning that Deeb will walk away with $1 million if he reaches his target by May 30th, 2024.

In order to win, Deeb must measure less than 17% on a Dexa scan, which is seen as the most accurate way to measure body fat.

At the time of the bet, Deeb was well over 300 pounds and had a very high body fat percentage.

The two men negotiated an additional 2 months for the bet, as Deeb argued that it was unfair to include the 2023 World Series of Poker in the window of the bet, as he would have a hard time exercising while grinding for many hours at the poker table.

This is why the May 30th, 2024 date was chosen.

So, how is the bet going?

Deeb recently revealed that he is currently weighing in at around 225 pounds, meaning that he has already lost 80 pounds with five months to go.

Prior to the bet getting underway, Deeb said that he would likely have to get down to around 217 pounds to win the bet.

Deeb, who says that he hasn't been measuring his body fat percentage as of late, can now spend the next five months adding muscle and losing fat, instead of solely focusing on losing weight.

It certainly seems as though Deeb is going to easily win his weight loss bet, which will result in one of the biggest payouts of his career, just prior to the start of the 2024 World Series of Poker main event.
